When I started this blog I was still in high school. Not knowing where this journey would take me. Growing up on the countryside I was seeking for a hobby that had nothing to do with outdoor sports but rather one that I can use as my creative outlet and follow my interest for fashion and photography. It started out as a naive hobby but soon became a big and constant part of my life. It was a time when blogs weren’t really popular. In the following years blogs became more trendy and consumed by a lot of people and the mainstream media.
After I graduated from my apprenticeship and school and moved to Munich I decided to work full time on this blog. It became my first real job which paid my rent and bills. Not in my wildest dreams did I, when I was 16 years old, ever think that this blog would give me the opportunities to work with brands that I love and attend Fashion Weeks in New York, Milan and Berlin.
With the rise and boom of Instagram the original Blogger scene shifted drastically. Every second person became an Influencer and Blogger without even having an actual blog and typing more than a caption.
So last year I asked myself if the time and work I invest in this blog is still worth it. Pictures and stories are consumed on Instagram within seconds and even brands were more interested to book Advertorials on Instagram rather than real articles on the blog. And last year it felt more like a burden to keep this blog alive and breathing. I have to admit that I felt like I lost my drive and motivation. So at the end of last year, after more than six years of blogging, I decided to give myself a break. To take off the pressure of posting, to make up my mind about where I want to go with this blog, what I want this platform to be and what I want to share.
I came to the conclusion that I started this blog because I had fun with it and its my platform. I can do with it what I want. And I have to say I missed it. I missed the original sense of blogging, without any pressure of likes, followers and algorithms.
Now I am back expressing my creativity through photography and the stories and I share here on my own platform. Back to creating content that lasts longer than the 15 seconds of an Instagram Story.
So here we are, back to old routines. With a fresh look and a whole lot of new inspirations. I hope you like the new layout as much as I do.
