Whenever I am in Munich, I usually I stay with my sister. This time Jorge joined me for the weekend, so we decieded to stay in a hotel. It was the first time for me to stay in a hotel in Munich and to play tourist in my old hometown. We chose to stay at the LOUIS Hotel, which is the perfect starting point to explore the city and all the beautiful sights Munich has to offer.

The hotel hosts 72 rooms which are divided by the ones in front with a stunning view on Viktualienmark and a small french balcony and the ones at the back, with view on the Alte Peter (the oldest church in Munich) and into the green courtyard.
We checked into the MARKET VIEW DELUXE room, which did not only amaze us with a beautiful view but the luxury of space. This room is about 42 square meter, which is very generous for a city boutique hotel. It comes with the comfiest bed and a big lounge area. What I really liked is that the bathroom and restroom are separated and you can even close the window from the bathroom into the room if needed.
good to know.
The hotel is also equipped with a gym, which we didn’t use to be honest. We rather spent our morning at the large breakfast buffet in the main restaurant downstairs. The hotel offers the biggest spread of vegan options for breakfast like delicious bowls, avocado toast, pancakes and much more. Even outside guest can come for a nice vegan brunch at the Louis Restaurant.
It’s safe to say that the Louis Hotel has one of the best locations in Munich. Located directly at the beautiful and bustling Viktualienmarkt (which is one of the most traditional Munich sights) and with Marienplatz, the English Garden and the Opera right around the corner, you are in the middle of the city, and almost everything is in walking distance from the Hotel. If you don’t want to walk too much, you can get bicycles from the Hotel which you can take out and explore the city with. The Louis Hotel is the perfect starting point for wherever you want to go, walk, ride or drive.
the LOUIS grillroom.
In the evening we tested the Hotel’s new Restaurant “The LOUIS Grillroom” (opened in April 2019). Which is moves up to the Hotels rooftop terrace during the warm summer months.
Their menu focuses on high-quality meats and fine wines. We ordered a bottle of Rosé and shared the Beef Tartare and Ceviche as a starter. For main Jorge and I, both chose the Filet. I decided to go for the Ladies Cut which is 150g instead of the standard 220g portion as well as the cauliflower side dish with curry and cashew. Everything we ordered was beyond good and perfectly matched with the other dishes. Good news: if you are not into meat, they offer great vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menus, such as a cauliflower steak or roasted aubergine.
We had such an excellent dinner experience. The service very was attentive and assisting with every question we had about the meat and the wine list, and the atmosphere was laid-back yet exclusive. The perfect place for a date night on a warm summer evening in Munich.
thank you so much to the LOUIS team for our wonderful stay.
